LET BYGONES BE BYGONES
As we all know since child
hood that lion is the king of the jungle. One day all the animals united and
decided that they have to change their king because sitting on the throne from
long had made him very conceited and haughty. Taking the throne for granted, he
did not even care for the right or wrong. With the choice of all the
other animals, it was decided to make monkey their king. The monkey felt
honoured and happily took over his new challenging post.
Few days passed by when one
day, while a mother goat was wandering in the jungle with her kid, even before
she could realise, her kid ran towards the den of an old lion who was sitting
outside, waiting for his prey. His mouth watered at the sight of the small,
tiny innocent kid and the moment, the kid reached within his reach, he
immediately pounced and held him captive between his paws.
The sight of her kid into
the clutches of the lion frightened the goat and she knelt down in front of the
lion begging him to spare the life of her innocent kid or take her instead as
his meal. She even requested and reminded him of his superiority as a king. The
arrogant lion growled back reminding her that the monkey was their present king
and to expect anything from him would be worthless.
Seeing her efforts go in
vain and the need of the hour, she immediately took a U-turn and ran towards
the monkey, the new king, for the safety of her kid. The monkey peacefully
listened to her plight and fully assured her that he would definitely save her
kid and shall leave no stone unturned for the same. Without wasting time, the
goat once again ran back towards the den while the monkey swung from one tree
to another and reached the den within no time.
Seeing the kid into the
lion’s clutches made his heart come into his mouth and he humbly requested the
lion to leave the kid as it was an order from the king. The lion in return
looked at him and mocked at him. The monkey got angry at him and started
screaming and screeching at the lion and started jumping from one branch to
another for hours. The lion paid no heed to this, instead killed the kid and
ate him up.
The goat wailed and cried
when the monkey came up to her and tried to pacify her by saying that she could
understand his position for she herself, was a witness to the hard efforts he
had put for hours together in trying to save her kid and there was no lacking
on his part. The poor goat was helpless as well as astonished and speechless
THE MORAL OF THE STORY:
Now, if we apply the same
story to the present regime (Monkey), saying that the people of this country (Goat)
now believe in RESULTS produced by the government and definitely not as their
best efforts and always saying that we are into the mess due to the misdeed of
the past regime. The time of blame game is now over and immediate actions have
to be initiated.
As the old saying, “LET BYGONES BE BYGONES” so let us forget
what had been done in the past and we should stop taking cover of their wrong
actions while doing our present deed. The past government (Lion) which is no
longer in power and people of this country were living like a KID of the goat i.e.
at the mercy of them and now they have been transformed into matured adult goats
by proving their existence in the recent elections and now are very hopeful
towards the new government. We do understand that it will take time for various
issues to materialize, but at least the most common instant issues can be taken
into consideration on the top most priority like inflation, price rise, power cuts and rapes etc. which are terribly
affecting common man the most.
One of the most burning
issues is of the Residents of the Campa Cola Society, Mumbai. What is the fault
of those hundreds of innocent residents who have put their hard earned money
just to buy a roof on their head? They
have been cheated by those builders, who for their personal gains, with
connivance of unscrupulous officials have brought them towards the end of the
road, who themselves are not even aware of how to prove their innocence towards
this fraudulent act of others. Why were the plans sanctioned if they were
unauthorized? How were they allowed to construct? How were they allowed to have
access to basic amenities like sewer, power, gas pipe line and electricity
etc.?
Can the present regime be
bold enough to take serious action against those builders, unwarranted officers
and all those unprincipled elements involved in this? Why not impose heavy
penalties on such builders, suspension of officers involved and legal action be
initiated against all of them including regularizing these flats? The outcome
of demoting these flats will only result into environmental hazard by way of
rubble of construction material, thus making it look deformed and defaced.
Can the President be
sympathetic and emotional enough to grant them relief so that they are not
displaced from their homes and mercy petition be allowed as a symbol for others
to follow the positive view in all such matters while taking their decisions in
conclusiveness.
