“Civil Service Preliminary examination 2014”

“Civil Service Preliminary examination 2014”

Scores of students now a days are staging a protest in Delhi, demanding scrapping of Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT). UPSC aspirants are protesting against the pattern of the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) which they believe gives an unfair advantage to English-speaking students while leaving candidates from Hindi or regional languages-background at a disadvantage. They want the CSAT to be scrapped. Protesters raising slogans against UPSC, calling CSAT discriminatory against aspirants from Hindi background. Daily protests against the controversial Civil Service Aptitude Test has indeed left them with very little time to study, but who is to be blamed? If they are the true aspirants then who told them to participate into such protests and misuse their valuable time.

Those UPSC Aspirants who are busy wasting these precious moments in protesting for something that is absolutely incorrect and baseless. Their protests against the Civil Services Aptitude Test refuse to die down for some aspirants who are not confident and unsure about the fate of their exam. These students who should now have been busy preparing are instead on the streets, protesting against an exam, which they believe discriminates against students from rural areas and humanities background. They just want the Civil Services Aptitude Test to be scrapped off. Why? The reason even they are not aware of.

It's not just that the candidates are from Hindi-speaking belt, who participate in this exam but the aspirants are from entire India. Why can’t the students not accept that the pass outs are the ones who have the capability to sustain a lot of responsibilities on their shoulders even under peer pressure? This is a very crucial competitive exam not a simple school exam where the teachers assess their students. The best amongst all have to be chosen. All regional languages have already been given appropriate privileges.  Just because of a few notorious aspirants how can an Organisation play with a career of large number of those aspirants who are seriously sitting at home busy preparing for this exam from the past one year or more. Date postponed shall be a big pressure on those true candidates who shall then be busy for the preparation of mains which is hardly a few of months ahead.

If a student from Hindi speaking belt is successful in this exam and tomorrow he’s posted in any non-Hindi speaking state like Tamil Nadu, Kerela etc. where Hindi is not an official language then how will the bureaucrats work as learning Tamil or English will delay the official work and he/she will not be able to carry out his/her responsibilities as an administrator. It’s a sheer apathy for those who are not sure of clearing this exam and wasting their time for unlawful purpose. This exam entails to shoulder the responsibility of those administrators who run the country then why should it not be extremely tough so that we get the best out of the best.

Even coaching centres are uncertain about preparing students. With protests against UPSC's Civil Service Aptitude Test intensifying by each passing day, uncertainty is looming large over the date of this year's exam. All eyes are now on the government, their only hope is that the issue is resolved at the earliest. Civil service aspirants has already got two additional attempts at cracking the UPSC examination along with a relaxation in the upper age limit besides now there’s only one subject for preparation in the mains instead of two earlier.

The row over CSAT has been raised in Parliament too.The government has urged the aspirants to call off their protest which intensified after the UPSC started issuing admit cards to the aspirants for the preliminary exam scheduled to be held next month. The different political parties has also started supporting this agitation only for their political gains as in some states the election are very near and they wanted to influence our youth for their personal gains. How many politicians are there who has sent their children to Hindi medium schools? If we really carry out a survey then we will observe that number will be marginal, then how they are supporting this agitation of students.

There are two compulsory papers of 200 marks each in the preliminary examination. The first paper is known as General Studies (G.S) and second paper is CSAT. The CSAT, second paper carries questions on comprehension, interpersonal skills including communication skills, logical reasoning and analytical ability, decision-making and problem-solving, general mental ability, basic numeracy, and English language comprehension skills (of Class X level). They are so simple questions that anyone can answer for example this passage was in 2011 paper:

Passage-II

I opened the bag and packed the boots in; and then, just as I was going to close it, a horrible idea occurred to me that had I packed my toothbrush? I don't know how it is, but I never do know whether I've packed my toothbrush. My toothbrush is a thing that haunts me when I'm travelling, this makes my life a misery, I dream that haven't packed it, and wake up in a cool perspiration, and get out of bed and hurry for it. And, in the morning, I pack it before I have used it, and it is always the last thing I turn out of the bag; and then repack and forget it, and have to rush upstairs for it at the last moment and carry it to the railway station, wrapped in my pocket-handkerchief.

67. When he was going to close the bag, the idea that occurred to him was
(a) Unpleasant
(b) sad
(c) fantastic
(d) amusing

68. What makes his life miserable whenever he undertakes travelling?
(a) Going to railway station
(b) Forgetting the toothbrush
(c) Packing his bag
(d) Bad dreams

69. His toothbrush is finally
(a) In his bag
(b) In his bed
(c) In his handkerchief
(d) Lost

If students cannot even answer such type of questions then what else do they want? Students have been objecting to the level of aptitude and English language questions being asked in the CSAT claiming they are much above the standard prescribed for the examination. This is for all of us to read and understand whether they are right in their protest or wrong. We all should not forget that the civil services examination is conducted in three stages- preliminary, main, and Personality Test- to choose candidates for very crucial and responsible posts of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and allied services.

Today, we want to compete with China whereas their (China) present regime is encouraging English so that they can contest with India and other English speaking countries not only increasing their business instead on other fields too. Are they anti national and promoting foreign language in China? Is writing or giving thrust on English is a crime? Students are complaining that inclination towards English is anti-national and promoting it by UPSC is a heinous crime and tomorrow if we are not wearing Kurta-Dhoti instead of Shirt and Trouser will it be an Anti-national/social activity. As one nationality is lost if one wants to lose it and why should we shy away with English as it is to our official language with Hindi.

Never Lose Hope

 Never Lose Hope

Hope is something we all have within us when times get tough and rough. A person can only sustain or tolerate pain for long with a hope that one day all will be well again. Another word for Hope is love and with hope and love, even the most impossible can be made possible. Hope is the pillar that holds up the world for everything that is done is done with a hope. We may not always have a comfortable living and may not always be able to solve all the problems spontaneously but never ever underestimate your own ability in doing so because if courage can be contagious, then hope can take on a life on its own. We should always make positive pledges within the family each day by reading and listening to positive and powerful events and also by associating ourselves with encouraging, positive thinkers.

We should always try our best to never lose hope in any situation:

11. Believe in yourself. Identify your strengths and enhance them so that you can overcome your weaknesses. There is nothing impossible on earth if you believe you can accomplish it. Always remember the quote “TRY And TRY AGAIN, TILL YOU SUCCEED”. Believing in yourself is the key to success in life. When you feel that you are not able to achieve your goals, when everything seems to be a hindrance in your path towards success, you may wonder about the key to accomplishing all your tasks and finding happiness. The key to all the problems is truly intrinsic within you and that becomes your attitude; your mind-set of believing in yourself as lack of self-confidence can be the cause of many failures resulting in privation.

2.     Always be brave to accept the Reality. Ups and downs are the diversities in everyone’s life and we all should be bold enough to face it as it comes. This is easier said than done because the one who is enduring such a situation feels totally lost and lonely.  Many questions seem to haunt the brain –“how will stable myself?”, “will I ever find happiness again?” and the most common “what do I do now?”“What will people think of me?” etc. It is understandable that a sudden change can be difficult to handle and accept, but one day it will definitely get better. The toughest part in such a situation is that one must accept the truth and be prepared for what it is but still must not lose hope for a bright new day.Remember a situation where we find ourselves weak may seem impossible but it is better to be prepared and fight through it for there is definitely an end to every battle.

3.  Balance  your reality with  faith.  Don’t lose faith,
prayers stabilizes    hope when    we feel it dwindling.
Accepting the reality with a hope to succeed through
shall  help  to maintain  the equilibrium of the turmoil
created by different other negative aspirations. Time
heals all wounds whereas hope is a medicinal that
not only cures us but also others around us.

4.  Stay calm and never let your feelings reflect on your face.  Always show a cheerful face and avoid sad and gloomy expressions, it will not only cheer us up but will be a great help in passing the phase smoothly with the help of our friends as well as an old saying, “smile and the world smiles with you, cry – you cry alone.”

5.     Identify reasons for failure. Everyone fails to achieve some goal, but if we learn from the failure, we will be more likely to succeed in the future. “SUCCESS” And “FAILURE” are the most important part of life and every individual has to face it at least once in a life span.So we should be brave and hopeful to face it with courage and dignity for “NO ONE IS PERFECT”. Face it boldly and don’t take the easy way out by giving up. Always remember that no one recovers from a large failure overnight. It takes time for the situations to be conducive and then to heal.

   6.  Be positive and think Positive. We should try to remain in the company of those people you admire for it will be very easy to start believing in our own self when we are in the company of those who have set their goals and achieved it. This is a nice way to bring out ideas about how to accomplish our own goal. Walk around with a smile, and be friendly, pleasant and nice. Talk with kindness, encouragement, civility, and respect so that you are fun to work with. Instead of complaining, sulking or gossiping, we should listen to them with interest.

 7. Never give up. We should give our best at every opportunity that come across our way. Any effort to improve our own self by accomplishing tasks will not be a mere waste of time but will be a learning process. We all are stronger than we think and any one little setback is not enough to stop us from moving ahead towards our cherished desired goals. We definitely deserve the best and to get that we have to succeed. We should never give up until we reach our destination!

  8. Be patient and persistent.Goals are set by each and every single individual but only those could accomplish them who remains persistent and have patience. This is certainly frustrating at times, but it’s a career path that shall bring more joy than any other because facing in the right direction and moving slowly will definitely give fruits to admire. Nothing great is ever accomplished without persistence and patience because, in order to be successful, our dreams must translate into work.

9.     Introspection. Every single individual is aware of the word “Introspection”, but do we really practice it. Introspection is the examination of our soul that helps in clearing our thoughts, buildsself-confidence and identifies our weaknesses. If we are sincere in practicing this art, then there is nothing that will stop us from accomplishing our goals or targets. This particular exercise is very simple as it needs no laboratory or test materials instead can be used at any time and at any place.

10.  Time. A famous quote “Time heals all wounds, and hope is a balm”. If we do feel that something bad has happened than we must not panic or blame our self for it. As the time will pass we will understand that it was a part of life and we were capable enough to handle such situations in the future. So “NEVER LOOSE HOPE” instead believe something better is waiting for you ahead. We must also not deny the fact that dedication and hard work leads to success,“WORK HARD FOR A BETTER TOMORROW”. It’s important for all of us to learn this lesson because any goal that’s worth achieving is going to have obstacles in the way. To expect a long-term view without difficulties is not possible at all, so it’s better to come, persevere knowing that we are going to get over it one day.

11.  Focus on your strengths. We should focus on our strengths, rather than sulk on our weaknesses for concentrating on such areas will boost up our spirits to fight more toughly. We should also keep a check on our weaknesses and work on them. Focusing on what we don’t do well only weakens our confidence, enthusiasm, creativity and overall performance; instead, our attention should be focussed on expanding upon strengths and working around our weaknesses.

12. Acknowledge your success. We should never forget to congratulate ourselves for all our successes, whether small or big. This will, in turn, increases our motivation and helps to work on our strengths. Once a while we can even look back into our past achievements and acknowledge ourselves for the same. “But that’s the past,”and it doesn’t make much of a difference.

Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you do not possess; remember that what you have now was once amongst the things you only hoped for. It is hope that makes the present moment less difficult to bear because if we believe that tomorrow shall be better, the hardships we face today will seem less difficult. A situation where we tend to lose hope in everything may seem rare at that particular moment, but tragedy occurs when we also stop trying for positive results.

Encouragement: The Most Important Skill

Encouragement is the most significant skill in any individual’s life as it walks along hand in hand during entire life span of every person. When we try to enhance the spirits of an individual to make him feel and realise that he/she is capable to do something concerning the task aimed for. This particular skill plays the most vital role in children with good personality and mature into what they want to be - to feel capable, to be resilient, to enjoy life and to be pleased etc.

As a plant needs water and sun light to grow, similarly every human being needs encouragement to become a respectable individual. In other words, encouragement in life is very essential as we may not die without encouragement, but certainly can wither. It is very easy to criticize but indeed it is very difficult to appreciate or encourage the other person’s efforts. During childhood parents rescue, shield and overprotect their children giving them the opportunity to learn many skills of life during their developmental stage so that they can withstand disappointments and are able to survive the ups and downs of the life.

Encouragement invigorates our spirits to overcome the difficulties that come across our way and that makes us proud of our own self as it reveals our character strength and assets that are the essential tools of building self-confidence and self-worth within us. Encouragement and success are the two different skills which are co-related: where encouragement is an act of noticing the effort and not the outcome there success is entirely the opposite, it’s the positive outcome of the sincere efforts we have put in.

Knowing that our efforts are being appreciated is more important than being successful because it is the encouragement that takes away the encumbrances to move on and on with full enthusiasm as it is a universal truth that only success can beget success and if we need achievements to be successful, then we must get up again and again, each time we fall. Encouragement is always associated with every individual’s effort since birth. Just recall of those times when our parents encouraged us to crawl, walk, play or study and so many other things. Seeing the happiness on their faces, makes the child repeat it again and again. The key element to encouragement is to stop being judgmental. The important thing isn't the grades which one gets; it's the effort you put in while trying to accomplish any task.

By boosting up the spirits on noticing the efforts being taken by any individual, encouragement instills a desire to try harder and harder. For example: Children will try harder if their confidence is boosted otherwise this can be a difficult concept as if it means that more and more attention to the process is required.

1.        We accept them exactly as they are.
2.        They are allowed to make mistakes.
3.        We notice and appreciate their effort.

Encouraging is the most significant responsibility one can bear because it requires constant instilling up the sense of confidence in any individual. A child reacts sharply far more towards this skill than an adult.

The Importance of Encouragement and Support:

Even the most confident of us appreciate some support from time to time. A smile, a nod, a quiet word can lift our mood even in tense situations, may be introducing a little humour can improve our perspective. Support can lift our spirits and motivate us to continue or simply alleviate stress at difficult times.

Mentors and teachers always give us support and encouragement for they know what one is capable of and are also aware of when to be encouraged and how to be pushed a little harder towards our cherished desired goals. Mentors and teachers are skilled in their individual fields to share their knowledge while educating, which itself is a matter of pride.

Trust is a big factor in such relationships which influences the levels to support different matters of consideration. On being told that we are ready for the transformation as it is essential that we trust them enough to believe their reassurances and we always know that they look into our best interests at heart.

Family and partners always stand as a moral support. Their support may not be an educational one or a materialistic one, but still that can be very valuable in listening to us sympathetically, may be giving an advice originated from their love, concern, care and affection. Knowing that they are there, behind us encourages and gives the motivation to try harder for success. Children often find the support of their parents which encourages them with a confidence to try harder to prove how good they are in order to make their parents feel proud of them.

Similarly when an adult feels being loved and cared, it encourages him to cope up with any stress, strain or tension along the path towards success and also makes him feel brave enough to be able to tackle any sort of the obstacles coming in his way.

Today, every individual finds himself in an uncertain economy, close-fitting budgets, greater work expectations and less commitment to those opportunities shared in everyday life. Encouraging words which are the powerful tools may motivates or tear him down.  Therefore sometimes we should allow emotions to actually gratify or even strengthen our relationships as these are the greatest opportunities to ignite even greater passion. As time plays a big role in achieving recognition, a generic thank you letter written are like missed opportunities that can develop a good long term relationship with the employees.

Successful people don’t wait to say the things they need to express for great work instead they express it day-to-day through the important assignments, public praise and also find unique personal ways to indicate it to their subordinates. Employees stay longer and loyal when there are career development opportunities. It also expresses the value that we have for their future. We should all work to develop our staff with the right balance of feedback and recognition for it is because of those happy and dedicated employees that takes your company and leadership to new statures and you cannot afford to ever losing them?

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered. Even if you do well to them, you are accused of selfish ulterior motives. Still this should not stop us from doing good deeds, instead should be encouraged to do more good because it is a universal truth that if you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies. No doubt, the good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow but that shall transform you into a real good personality.

Our children are the best.  We are in a habit of pointing out their faults and problems or give them instructions and advises. Have we ever thought of even praising them of their good deeds, behaviour, their beauty or successes?  What do we say to our children no matter at what age, when they walk out the door?  Be careful? Do your best. Don’t you forget to eat your lunch or your books?  Have we ever said "You're a beautiful person? I am proud of you. You are the best child God has given me" For a growing or a grown up child, it is difficult to believe when we praise him or her, but for a two-year old, there is no doubt when we hold out your hand and tell him they yes he can walk.  Though it can be trickier encouraging older children or spouses or adult friends, still giving encouragement, like other forms of love and care sometimes does require creativity. . . . Because an overdose of true love has no adverse side effects.

Without encouragement, life would soon feel pointless and burdensome. Without encouragement, we can be overwhelmed by the very real pains of our lives. Without encouragement, we feel unloved. Without encouragement, we begin to think that God is a deceiver or is unconcerned with our welfare. Encouragement gives us the will to carry on. It is a glimpse of the bigger picture. It can always prevent burn-out.

Life is a Beautiful Struggle.

Life is a Beautiful Struggle.

"YOU HAVE COME FROM GOD, YOU ARE A SPARK OF HIS GLORY.
YOU WILL GET PEACE ONLY WHEN YOU AGAIN MERGE IN HIM."

Life is the sum of experiences that we encounter as we live through our life. Day to day struggles and triumphs are experienced by all. As human beings, when we encounter any challenge, we have the freedom to choose to how to react, as every decision that we make takes us on a different road. Every decision that we make has a significance and even the tiniest choice that we make reverberates throughout the entire universe. All life demands is struggle, struggle and struggle. Those who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish, and insensitive to the real values of life. So we should never lose an opportunity given by God to make the best use of Life.

Success is not measured by what you accomplish, but by the opposition you have encountered, the courage with which you have fought the struggle against overwhelming odds. Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals. Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our betterment for no man can ride unless your back is bent.

Some of us need to discover that we will not be comfortable until we have the courage to do and experience more less than usual... There are times, then, when in order to keep ourselves in existence, we simply have to sit back for a while and do nothing. And for a man who has let himself be drawn completely out of himself by his activity, nothing is more difficult than to sit still and rest, doing nothing at all. The very act of resting is the hardest and most courageous act he can perform at that time.

What actually we're all seeking is the meaning and purpose for life. What we're seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences, on the purely physical plane will have resonance within our own innermost being towards the reality so that we actually feel the ecstasy of flourishing.

One who lives life with passion is like a bright burning fire and as a small, dim fire can easily be extinguished by gusts of wind, but a large, bright one will grow bigger as the wind grows stronger. In the same way, the more obstacles a passionate person encounters, the brighter and stronger that person grows.

Our duty is to encourage everyone in his struggle to live up to his own ideas, and strive at the same time to make the ideal closer to the Truth. The battle of life is, in most cases, fought uphill; and to win it without a struggle is perhaps to win it without honour. If there were no difficulties there would be no success; if there were nothing to struggle for, there would be nothing to be achieved. In these confused times, the role of classical music is very essential to reassert cultural and ethical values that have always characterized our country and for which we have traditionally been honored and respected outside our shores.

“We Are Not Who We Think We Are”

“We Are Not Who We Think We Are”

One day, a scorpion looked around the mountain where he lived and decided that he wanted a change. So he set out on a journey through the forests and hills. He climbed over rocks and under vines and kept going until he reached near a river. The river was wide and swift, the scorpion stopped to reconsider the situation, he couldn't see any way across, so he ran upriver and then checked downriver, all the while thinking that he might have to turn back. Suddenly, he saw a frog sitting in the rushes by the bank of the stream on the other side of the river. He decided to ask the frog for help to get across the stream.

“Hello Mr. Frog!” called the scorpion to the frog, “Would you be so kind enough to give me a ride on your back to cross the river?”

“Well, Mr. Scorpion! Why should I do that? How do I know that if I try to help you, you won’t try to kill me?” questioned the frog hesitantly.

“Because,” the scorpion replied, “If I try to kill you, then I would die too, as I cannot swim!”

Now this seemed to make sense to the frog. But he asked. “What about when we get close to the bank? You could still try to kill me and get back to the shore!”

“This is true,” agreed the scorpion, “But then I wouldn't be able to get to the other side of the river!”

“Alright then...how do I know you won’t just wait till we get to the other side and THEN kill me?” said the frog.

“Ahh...,” crooned the scorpion, “Because you see, once you've taken me to the other side of this river, I will be so grateful for your help, that it would hardly be fair to reward you with death, now would it?!”

So the frog agreed to take the scorpion across the river. He swam over to the bank and settled himself near the mud to pick up his passenger. The scorpion crawled onto the frog's back, his sharp claws prickling into the frog's soft hide, and the frog slid into the river. The muddy water swirled around them, but the frog stayed near the surface so the scorpion would not drown. He kicked strongly through the first half of the stream, his flippers paddling wildly against the current.

Halfway across the river, the frog suddenly felt a sharp sting in his back and, out of the corner of his eye, saw the scorpion remove his stinger from the frog's back. A deadening numbness began to creep into his limbs.

“You fool!” croaked the frog, “Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?”

The scorpion shrugged, and did a little jig on the drowning frog's back.

“I could not help myself. It is my nature.”

Then they both sank into the muddy waters of the swiftly flowing river.

Self-destruction - “It’s my Nature”, said the Scorpion...

This story reflects the unchangeable and static nature of the scorpion who is dominated by his reflexes and has no control over them.

On reaching a certain age, most of us are forced to think that we are just the same and cannot change, and won't even try to change!  But where a scorpion was unable to control over his reflexes, whereas we do have choices.  We do not have to be the way what we think we are; we can actually be and may act differently.  “The great revolution in our generation is the discovery that human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can transform the outer aspects of their lives” was once said by a well-known philosopher.

We can think and can distinguish between the right and the wrong, good and bad etc. So to look differently from each other and to be healthier and happy, we have to change at every step of life as the circumstances demand for o it -- the grass is always green but it looks to be much greener elsewhere.  Similarly if we want a change in the world where everyone is living without the fear of losing one‘s own identity, where the women are not abused, there is less violence and reduction in the poverty percentage too, then a reformation at all levels of life is always a must.

Nothing should be so powerful to stop us from changing?  What keeps us locked in ourselves is the view that how we understand the situation?  Invariably, it is our ego, the most talked-about and still the least understood of a very common human features.  The ego gives us a strong sense of ourselves; it is the “me” part.  This is neither good nor bad, except when self-centeredness dominates our thoughts, feelings, and perceptions of life.  A positive sense of our own self gives us confidence and a purpose, but the more negative and selfish aspect of the ego makes us unconcerned with other people's feelings; it thrives on the idea of me-first and impels us to cry out, “What about me?  What about my feelings?” “Why only me?” etc.

It can appear relatively simple to make changes in the world, while making changes in our own lives can seem far more overwhelming.  It requires courage to move from a familiar and known place to the one that is different for this means stepping outside of our usual comfort zone. People won’t change their nature and they can’t help it. We ourselves have to move on carefully so that no one can ever stab us on our back.

One best thing about people is predictability for they are just like scorpions, doing what they are used to do, even if it causes them harm. Sometimes they don’t think, sometimes they can’t help it. So believe your own instincts and don’t let yourself be talked into something you don’t think is a good idea, else others will stab you on the back whenever you give them a chance to do so.  To re-establish ourselves once again it is the biggest fight with our own individuality. If we refuse to change, we ourselves are the cause of our own destruction, because no one waits for anyone and life moves on and on leaving you behind.

Education is Essential

Education is Essential

Education is a crucial development tool for the development of any nation and serves as a key mechanism towards success for it helps in mitigating the challenges one comes across. Although the educational systems of different countries are not similar but they do share a common goal and that is to to provide its citizens a suitable and proper learning, therefore immediate steps must be taken to improve it. An indispensable tool and the most valuable treasure one can possess, education plays an important role in the society enabling it to flourish both socially and economically, helping its people to gain recognition and respect. The most beautiful truth about education is that whatever knowledge we acquire cannot be stolen but is always enriched if taken from others.

Today the main crux of education should be focused on how to live in the world on the basis of an idealistic ethical behaviour with a good moral code of conduct. They should be taught the basics of what is required to survive and thrive in whatever field they are interested in. If they are well observant and focused they can succeed in whatever they do and cannot be dumb founded by being forced on doing something in which they have no interest at all.Education is changing, but very slowly and we all unitedly need to support that change. Going to school and getting and education is something that many teenagers today take for granted?  We are going to be sorry if we don’t prepare our students better for the skills they need now for a better future.

Even today, the process of grasping knowledge is very tedious, dull and boring. Due to the pressure of the parents , the child is busy cramming up as he only concentrates on getting good marks in the tests and board examinations. This goose and berry chase does not strengthen his base instead gives the child enormous stress and pressure which rob teachers and students of quality classroom time.

The main focus was on the basic education is to strengthen the foundation of the child, but one thing is certain: today’s generation is not receiving a quality education in most schools. Trading of schools as a common phenomenon now a days. Schools and colleges are just a money minting source only. Overcrowded classrooms are of concern as the teachers are unable to give proper attention to the child. If the teacher is teaching just because it is his profession, a means to earn his bread and butter, there the child is just studying because it’s the need of the hour and a normal procedure of his upbringing has to be completed. The paradox is complicated by the modern emphasis on the standards of learning tests as it does not help when all the relaxation activities and fun times are taken away from the children. The child spends the entire day in school, tuition's, completing homework and then learning due to which he gets no time to play, joke and be merry. Since his very childhood he is unnecessarily burdened with the weight of his career giving a total shut down to a childhood which could have been a his memorable moments in older days keeping him in high spirits.

Education and Knowledge are not the same because education gives you a degree but knowledge makes you a personality. Education is not all about studying and getting good marks. Marks are just numbers obtained in life but real education is the knowledge gathered by discovering new things which we don't know about and enhance our knowledge. An educated person has the ability to differentiate between right and wrong or good and evil. It is the foremost responsibility of a society to educate its citizens.

Everyone is a citizen but few are responsible citizen, in the same way every one is educated but few are knowledgeable. Special focus on women’s education is needed because the knowledge and empowerment of one woman can bring about a change in a family and then the society as a whole.
It is the uneducated and illiterate people who think women are not entitled to education.

The Right to Education is the right of every individual and by education – it does not mean going to a school can only enrich your wisdom but various other courses, training and diplomas etc. also play a big role in one’s upbringing. The right to education includes a responsibility to provide basic education for individuals who have not completed primary education. In addition to this, access to education encompasses the obligation to rule out discrimination at all levels of the educational system, to set minimum standards and to improve quality of education. Better education can make a person more civilized and useful for the society. One cannot image a prosperous life without appropriate education. Every object that a mankind creates to develop healthy surroundings is based over the knowledge that is attained through education and the more the society develops the more life becomes dependent over education. A person becomes perfect with education as he is not only gaining something from it, but also contributing to the growth of a nation. We all realise the importance of education and must aim to ensure that each citizen of our nation is educated and independent.
New advanced ways that have generated give a lot of emphasis in the technological up gradation and researches which have been recognized facilitating better communication and production of cost effective products and services to the society, education plays a paramount role in the modern industrial world, both economically as well as socially enabling the people to lead a comfortable life bringing prosperity and encouraging them to live respectfully

Role of Guardian and Parents in imparting knowledge.

Today when both the parents are working, they prefer to put their loved children in a crèche and day schools ensuring that their children are not left neglected. This no doubt gives them both an opportunity to earn for their family and permits them the flexibility to run a home comfortably.
But, is this enough? On one hand where the parents are ready to push, shove, and jostle against one another at the gates of the best schools in town to secure their child’ best education but hardly find time to spend with their own children.
Education not only moulds the new generation, but reflects a society’s fundamental assumptions about itself and the individuals which compose it. It is vital to the human resources development and empowerment in the stages of growth of any nation.

Need and importance of education

To sum up, we need to recognize that the knowledge, skills and productivity of our growing young and dynamic work force forms the backbone of our economy. To reap the  benefits of such a young work force, we need to implement the reforms in the education system and also bring forth new factors of production, namely knowledge, skills and  technology which have the ability to unleash the productive frontiers of the economy in the most efficient and dynamic way. Besides, taking a leaf from the western hemisphere, India should try to become ‘knowledge economy’ to promote inclusive growth.  I, therefore, would like underline three major areas to be focused to ensure that our education system is sustainable and meets global standards:

i.              Quality of Education – in terms of infrastructure, teachers, accreditation, etc.
ii.             Affordability of Education – ensuring poor and deserving students are not denied education.
iii.            Ethics in Education – avoiding over-commercialization of education system.

The most persistent problem is the unavailability of money or inadequate funding of education programs or systems. The demand far exceeds the supply, and available monies are only for the most basic educational needs of the students. The concept of education faces a bleak future characterized by stagnation, insensitivity, inadequate facilities and personnel. Is this what we should be contented with? Public funds are insufficient to cover education costs, and schools throughout India experience shortages of teachers, books, and basic facilities. Retention of both students and teachers is alarmingly low, particularly in many rural areas.
Gender discrimination also keeps attendance rates for girls far below that of boys in the same age group. For girls, the ultimate goal is often portrayed as marriage, and not the attainment of a solid educational background. Often, families cannot afford to pay for the schooling of all their children so parents frequently decide to prematurely end schooling for their daughters. For many impoverished families, schooling is viewed as an impracticable financial burden, allowing them to reserve money for more pressing needs.

Financial problems need to be overcome, legislation needs to take on a new perspective and approach to education, teachers need to grasp the changes and embrace them. We also need to understand the young generation and need to accept their individuality and uniqueness. They are different just the way we were different from our parents and we need to deal with understanding.

Education is a big social responsibility of every nation where education of women is should be must as the empowerment and knowledge of one woman can revolutionize her family first and then the society. Not only restricted to study hard and score good results, education also means to conquer new effects towards the betterment of mankind because even one educated individual can create a big difference between wrong and right or evil and good. However the inequalities in the standards of education are still a major issue that needs to be solved as early as possible. The importance of education is our life cannot be ignored at any cost for it is the only way to acquire knowledge. Education itself needs to be redefined as many developing countries face the problem of low-quality teaching. There are many challenges for in the education system those have to be alleviated.
